Social Enterprise Coordinator

Koskela is seeking an Aboriginal / Torres Strait Islander tertiary graduate to coordinate projects in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Design Facilitation and Social Enterprise arm of our design and lifestyle business.

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with strong attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills for this full-time position.

The Social Enterprise Coordinator provides operational and administrative support to contribute to the effective and efficient delivery of exhibitions and art projects. This role acts as a liaison with our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community art centre partner organisations.

To be successful in this role you will have tertiary qualifications in visual arts / design, arts management or relevant discipline and should possess high-level administration skills with computer literacy. You must demonstrate you can work within a team environment, and possess a high level of attention to detail.

Key Duties

  • Assist the Art and Social Enterprise Curator in the delivery of exhibitions and art projects.

  • Act as a point-of-contact for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community art centre partner organisations

  • Assist with exhibition installations and artwork registration

  • Assist with the development and implementation of exhibition specific events and public programs.

  • Assist the Social Enterprise Curator with other duties and project work as required.

Key requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience and training

  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise activities to meet deadlines

  • Computer literacy

Desirable skills

  • Experience in gallery/ museum operations, artwork handling, reporting & installation

  • An understanding of Intellectual Property / Copyright

Pre-screening questions

  • How do you understand Intellectual Property in regards to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art and cultures, and how would you communicate that to our team and clients

  • Describe an example of a cross-cultural collaborative project that you felt demonstrated best practice, and why?

Graphic Designer

Koskela is on the hunt for an exceptional full-time Graphic Designer to join our team! We are looking for a designer with 3-5 years experience who is excited about working across print and digital design, and if you have a love of photography too that would be a bonus!

You would be responsible for championing and evolving Koskela’s brand aesthetic and for developing engaging visual assets that excite our customers.

Outcomes:

  1. Design all marketing campaign assets for digital and retail. This will include signage, posters, decals, pamphlets, catalogues, press releases, digital banners, website pages, EDMs, social media GIFs and Instagram stories.

  2. Design templates that can be utilised by marketing and sales according to their needs. Examples include EDMs, retail signage and presentations.

  3. Be willing to tackle challenging graphic design projects such as t-shirt artwork and Christmas wrapping paper.

  4. Assist the rest of the Koskela team with any graphic designs needs they have, such as designing graphics for furniture.

Key Skills required for this role:

  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe suite is essential

  • Knowledge of print production, or a willingness to learn

  • Comfortable with designing for digital marketing products: websites, EDMs, social media

  • Photography and photo editing skills would be a bonus

  • Experience using Shopify and Squarespace would be great.
