As of 2021, all of our Seating, excluding our Sledbase stool and Jake chair (We’re working on it!) come with removable covers .

You can purchase new or additional covers for our Quadrant Soft Sofa range if you’ve purchased a sofa after 2021.

If you have an existing sofa we offer to retrofit and reupholster all our sofas to be compatible with removable covers.

All of our furniture is made to order and we have a range of select fabrics and finishes to choose from.

We only carry stock through our Rehome program, and therefore
we manufacture only what is ordered and answer to the demand of our customers - not trends

Your piece will be ready to dispatch in 8-10 weeks from the date of purchase, and we will keep you updated throughout the process.

lampshade products are purchased upfront, eliminating financial risk for
the artists. Art centres receive a management fee in addition to
artist payments, acknowledging their essential coordination role and supporting their long-term viability.

Quadrant Soft Sofa (Removable Covers from 2021)

All Quadrant Soft Sofas made from 2021 onwards come with fully removable covers as standard.

These covers are designed to be:

easy to remove and refit
practical for cleaning and long-term care
simple to replace when you want a refresh

You can also purchase additional or replacement covers directly through our website, making it easy to update your sofa without replacing the entire piece.

Quadrant Soft sofas purchased prior to 2021

If you own a Quadrant Soft made before 2021, your sofa can be returned to Koskela to be retrofitted so it becomes compatible with removable covers. Once updated, your sofa can be re-covered again and again for life.

Classic, Brolga & Jacob Sofas (Designed with removable covers from 2024)

Our Classic, Brolga and Jacob Sofas were designed with removable covers from 2024 onwards.

These sofas include:

zip-off seat cushion covers
zip-off back cushion covers

This makes it easy to remove and dry clean cushion covers, or replace them over time — helping extend the life of your sofa and reduce environmental impact.

What’s different about these sofas?

While the cushion covers are removable, the upholstery on the main sofa body (side panels, back and base) is more structured. These sections are not designed to be removed as easily, and removing them requires the base to be disassembled using tools.

We recommend spot cleaning the fixed upholstery areas wherever possible.

If full removal is required (for example, for a major refresh or reupholstery), disassembly and fabric removal can be arranged through Koskela unless you are suitably equipped and confident to do this yourself.

Care Instructions – Classic, Brolga & Jacob Sofas

Our Classic, Brolga and Jacob Sofas are designed for long-term comfort and durability, using a premium combination of structured foam or latex cores with soft feather-style toppers. This layered cushion design offers the best of both worlds — supportive seating with a relaxed, luxurious feel — however it does require some regular care to keep it looking its best.

Cushion Inserts

Seat cushions are made with either a high-quality foam core or latex core, combined with a feather/fibre wrap or feather/down layer for added softness and comfort.

Because the top layer is designed to feel plush and inviting, cushions will naturally settle over time with use.

Regular Cushion Maintenance (Recommended Weekly)

To keep your sofa looking full and well-maintained, we recommend:

Fluffing and reshaping cushions regularly

This helps redistribute the feather and fibre/down and prevents flat spots.
Rotating seat cushions (where possible)

Rotating cushions helps ensure even wear and prolongs the life of the inserts.
Plumping back cushions frequently

Back cushions will soften and relax over time and benefit from regular plumping to maintain their shape.

General Care Tips

Avoid sitting on the edge of cushions repeatedly, as this can cause uneven compression.
Keep your sofa out of direct sunlight to help prevent fabric fading and drying of natural materials.
Vacuum upholstery regularly using a soft brush attachment to remove dust and debris.
Spot clean spills as soon as possible to reduce staining and avoid the need for deeper cleaning.

Cleaning Removable Cushion Covers

The seat and back cushion covers are removable on the Classic, Brolga and Jacob Sofas, making ongoing care easier.

Covers can be removed for professional cleaning (dry clean recommended), depending on the fabric selected.

Keeping Your Sofa Looking Its Best

A small amount of regular maintenance will keep your sofa feeling comfortable and looking beautifully styled for years. If your cushions ever feel under-filled or tired over time, Koskela can assist with refilling, replacement inserts, or reupholstery options to extend the life of your piece.
